    Sub: Identification of Weevil specimens Reg.

    Dear Dr. Gujar,

    Mr. V. Karuppaiah, Scientist (Agrl. Entomology) has been working on insect pest
    of ber at CIAH. Since last year he has been recording a Coleopteran insect (suspect to be-
    Stone weevil) which are feeding on ber fruits and causing serious damage. However, here
    we are unable to confirm their taxonomical identity. Therefore, I request you to kindly
    identify weevil at species level which I am sending along with this letter. This
    identification part will be duly acknowledged.
