AN ORDINANCE MANDATING THE PRESERVATION OF TOURIST SPOTS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LIBERTAD Sponsor: Hon. Jessie Jean C. Mangilaya Whereas, pursuant to Section 17 of Republic Act 7160 also known as the Local Government Code of 1991, it is the duty of the local government to ensure the maintenance, protection and conservation of communal forest, tree parks, and other tourist attractions; Whereas, preservation and development of the tourist spots in Libertad, Antique will maintain and enhance their natural beauty as well as preserve the ecological balance of the sites; Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Sanggunian Bayan that, SECTION I - Regulated Acts - No person, natural or juridical, shall destroy and vandalize all natural and man-made tourist spots in this municipality; SECTION II - Rules and Regulations a. All persons or group of persons are mandated to preserve and maintain the natural and man-made tourist spots; b. Unauthorized persons are prohibited to hold activities that could endanger and destroy the natural setting of the sites; c. Other necessary rules and regulations may be issued by the Municipal Mayor or his authorized representative for the proper implementation of this Ordinance; SECTION III - Penalty Clause - Any person found violating this ordinance shall be sanctioned as follows. First Offence- Fine in the amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php 1,500.00) and Fifteen (15) days imprisonment. Second Offence- Fine in the amount of Two Thousand Pesos (Php 2,000.00) and Thirty (30) days imprisonment. Third Offence- Fine in the amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (Php 2,500.00) and Six (6) months imprisonment. SECTION IV- Effectivity - This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
