Oct. 19 – Oct. 23, 2009

This week we’ll read Frog Gets His Song, Soccer Song, and Now You Know
About Soccer. Please read with and listen to your child read each day. If you
have any questions about the grading standards, please let me know. There are
just a few parents that I haven’t met with for a conference. I’ll send another note
home to those parents by this Friday. Remember to help your child study the sight
words. NOTE: If you still have not sent in the party money ($5.00) and/or the
paper money ($10.00), please send it in by Friday of this week. It is a total of
$15.00. Please send cash and not a check.

Reading Homework for the Week

• Monday – read Frog Gets His Song pg 134-141, do Day 1 on the

Homework Paper, and study sight words.

• Tuesday – read Soccer Song pg. 146 - 161, read Focus Skill and
Words to Know pg. 142-145, do Day 2 homework & review sight words.
• Wednesday – read Soccer Song pg. 146 - 161 and Now You Know
About Soccer pg. 164 - 165, do Day 3 homework, & study sight words.

• Thursday – read Soccer Song pg. 146 - 161, read about the
author and illustrator pg. 162 - 163, do Day 4 homework and spelling
words Triangle Worksheet.
(Phonics Skill in the stories is the –ng sound at the end of words)

Math Homework
We are studying basic addition and subtraction facts and word
problems. Remember to help your child practice counting by 1’s, 2’s,
5’s, and 10’s.
