October
Special Lessons and Activities: Dear Parents/Guardians, October is going to be a wonderful month in our classroom! I would love for you to be involved with your student in the many great events that are planned for this month! Thank you so much for taking the time to be apart of your students education. I cannot wait to share this month with my students and their parents! Sincerely, Rachel Dobbs
Important Dates to Remember:

10/6 Parent/Teacher Conferences
This month we are starting addition and the value of different coins in our math unit. It would be helpful to your student if you worked with them and encourage them at home. I will be sending home worksheets in their homework folders to practice at home. Also, this month we will have a reading calendar that will be sent home with each student. The goal for this month is for each student to read as many days as they can. Listed on the calendar is a scale of points that equal certain prizes. We have a very exciting activity during the month of October. On the 21st, we are going to take a trip to the pumpkin patch. Each student will have the opportunity to buy a pumpkin for later activities in class. We will spend the week before the trip learning about how we grow pumpkins, what they are used for and many other things about pumpkins.
