Post Observation Conference

Jennifer Wilker NELA, Cohort III

Summarize Impressions of the Lesson

This was a review/introduction of what the first unit is about The students were on task The students were doing the work No major behavior problems

Recall Data to Support those Impressions

Students came in and began working Students worked with their shoulder partner Students got up and found their partner to work their problem out

Analyze the Students Work

Did not realize the students did not know how to multiply terms in a given polynomial or how to combine exponents

Analyze the Observation Data

Plus Teacher was prepared (work on the board for students to do when they walked into the room) Rewarded students who were on task with a raffle ticket Addressed common mistakes Constantly modeled how to solve Made real world connections Constantly walked around and helped students as needed Had students work problems out on the board after she checked problem for accuracy Delta Student engagement was low Students were released to work on their own too quickly No differentiation No assessment/end product

I wonders.
How will the assigned seats be determined? How do you formatively assess students? When do you decide to move on and when do you decide to reteach?

Next Steps
Differentiation Readdress classroom rules and procedures Must collect Data on students

Reflect on the Coaching Process

Teacher was very receptive of suggestions We worked together on differentiating a week worth of assignments I monitored her lessons once she began differentiation on her on She began collect exit tickets Data wall on pre and post assessments
