Places Outside the Home Lesson Plan Date Nava April 25th , 2011

Learning Outcome(s): What do you hope the Ps are able to take away from this lesson? Ps use proper language on their own, without guidance from T or other Ps Pre-teach and elicitation will reveal how much time to spend on vocab. Activity will demonstrate confident usage

Town vocabulary

Resources, Material and Preparation: Beach Ball My Home Town maps (4), checklist (many) My Home Town Extension 1 per group 2. Lesson Structure Introduction: How will you introduce this class in a manner that engages the Ss and activates their thinking? (Ice breaker, warm-up, etc.) Ball Toss Elicit ideas for places in the townwrite on board. Pass ball and the P who catches the ball must give another place. Teaching/Learning Sequence: What steps and activities are you going to use to help teachers acquire and practice the knowledge, skills and/or attitudes needed to meet the outcome? Step 1: My Home Town Intro Give out sheets. Explain game and CCQ places in the townwhat do you do at a (restaurant)? 10 2 Pacing

Step 2: My Home Town Activity Move Ps with maps to opposite corners of the room. Explain again how to play. T demonstrates x1, 2. Ask a P to demo x1, 2. Begin activity. Circulate and write any recurring errors on board Step 3: My Home Town Extension In your new town. Decide: 1. What do you need to build in your hometown. 2. Prepare a tour of your hometown, pick 5 places to seetalk about them. Present ideas to the class. (Try to have as many Ps as possible speaking, not just one leader)
