Encana Oil & Gas; Plano, TX May August 2013 Engineering Intern- Completions Leveraged new technology in coiled tubing manufacturing for the utilization of 2-3/8 OD strings in Haynesville extended reach laterals in order to make significant gains in drill-out cost and efficiency o Considered operational advantages and disadvantages for new string designs and tied an economic value to gains made o Conducted torque/drag and expected string life modeling for proposed 2-3/8 strings and compared to current designs o Presented an economic case for 2-3/8 OD strings over 2 strings The economic impact of project recommendation would reduce overall drill-out costs by 25% and 44% in the Haynesville and TMS, respectively o Used modeling to finalize an optimum string design and recommended to team for a group of upcoming wells o Worked out logistics with Global Tubing and Cudd Energy Services to ensure deliverability of strings to three different states o Made field visits to view CT drill-outs and other completions related operations
