Question 2 - Evaluation
Question 2 - Evaluation
CLOTHING - The clothing seen throughout the magazine is reflective of the typical outfits seen worn by the social group of alternative teenagers and young adults. Typically dark, often torn clothing; skinny jeans, band shirts, a lot of black, piercings etc.
MUSIC - Their musical interests are shown through the bands discussed and mentioned in the magazine, showing their heavy and alternative music taste to match their outfits. ATTITUDES - Often seen as rebellious, the magazine and the use of discussion of loud music, offensive language and stern/alternative photoshoots as well as the way it is written shows the rebellious nature of this group.
My magazine RENEGADE represents a stereotypical view of teenagers and young adults with an interest in heavy music. It connotes their taste in fashion [seen right], attitudes and interests through the conventions of the magazine. The dark colours and fonts used, the blood splatters, the bands discussed, the gig and album reviews, the stern typical-rock photoshoots, the use of capitalisation and expletives etc. INTERESTS - The magazine represents their audience as heavily interested in music, seeing bands perform live, going against society and having an interest in not following the conventional mainstream of pop culture.
