Containment cabinets
Other features that may be seen in such rooms are the use of an airlock to allow people to pass in and out of the room. A pass-through autoclave may be available to allow for the sterilisation of contaminated material. Other containment rooms may be of a higher or lower standard, depending on the toxic, chemical, or microbiological hazard of the room. Less hazardous rooms would not use an airlock or pass-through autoclave and rely on the exhaust of a Class I cabinet,
