To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to have the opportunity to recommend Ms. Sara Reid for an elementary teaching position. Sara was a student in one of my courses. We have also had several conversations outside ofthe classroom about her goals and objectives as a future
During the Fall semester of 2012, Sara was enrolled in my course, Literacy I: Reading and the Language Arts -from Birth through Third Grade. Her performance on all academic tasks was well done. She developed a literacy focused lesson for use with young children, was immersed in a writing workshop and participated in literature circles - to name just a few of our course activitied. Additionally, she exhibited a fine understanding of the reading and writing processes. In short, she is a capable and dedicated student.

in a weekly field placement attached to the literacy course. Her mentor teacher gave her all "excellent" ratings on the evaluation of the work she did in her second grade classroom. Sara also went "above and beyond" the required hours for this placement - clearly showing her interest in making connections between theory, research and this practice model. Her mentor teacher commented: "Sara demonstrates a passion for children and teaching. She has a rich knowledge of children's literature and always chose appropriate books to read to the class. Sara was positive with students, but also followed the classroom management plan." I would concur with both the ratings and comments shared by Sara's mentor - as these reflect my own observations and impressions.
Sara also demonstrated her developing skills as an educator

I recommend

with enthusiasm. I am confident that she will make many fine contributions to the district that is fortunate enough to employ her.
