Ex: It is really difficult for me to get started on an essay. o 2) Revisit analytical paragraph Have students look back to the HG passage about Rues death and the Soliders Cemetery poem They will come up with a list of 4 potential topics to discuss in the poem (with a partner first and then as a class) o 3) Students compare and contrast the two texts Students will pick one topic and focus their response around that topic They will have 20 minutes to write their paragraph Tuesday, 3/25: o 1) DO NOW: what do you do when you dont understand something when you are reading? Ex: If I dont understand something, I go back and read again o 2) HG Quiz ch. 23-24 o 3) Cognitive strategies PPT Introduce cognitive strategies o 4) Up clip Have students apply cognitive strategies to UP, practice for HG later in week Students will use cognitive strategies to analyze the UP clip Wednesday, 3/26: o 1) Review Quiz answers o 2) quiz rewrites, significant events in HG Thursday, 3/27: o NO instruction, Health survey o Watch HG movie Friday, 3/28: o Katniss Facebook page
