Seuss Elementary

Mascot
Dr.Seuss Elementary's mascot is thing one and thing two. Thing one and two are two creatures from the book Cat in the Hat by Dr.Seuss. The two creature are fun and creative and they express their curiosity by having fun. These are some characteristics that Dr.Seuss Elementary hopes to see in our students.

School Vision
Creativity is something that modern schools lack. Here at Dr.Seuss Elementary we believe that there are no such things as bad ideas, and every students can express their creativity and individuality. We want all of our students to leave this school happy with themselves but also to be academically prepared for middle school and high school.

Courses Offered
Dr.Seuss Elementary offers a fun creative learning from first to fifth grade. Each class learns the basic required subjects such as science, math and language arts. In each class the teachers incorporate different Dr.Seuss materials to teach the students. For example, in E.L.A the teachers may read aloud a Dr.Seuss childrens book and ask the students to find the moral of the story

Types of Courses
At Dr.Seuss Elementary students attend five days a week from 10 AM till 3 PM. Each student stays in the same classroom for the entire day.

School Starts: 10:00 AM First Break: 10:50 - 11:00 Lunch: 12:00 - 12:30 Last Break: 1:50 - 2:00 School Ends: 3:00

Extracurricular Activities Offered


At Dr.Seuss Elementary we offer three after school programs. Art Club Literature Appreciation Nature Club
Each Club study different aspects of Dr.Seuss's books, and apply what they learned from the books in real life. For example in the nature club they may read The Lorax and then brainstorm different ways to bring awareness to real life issues that goes on in wildlife.

Student Body
There are only 100 students at Dr.Seuss Elementary. We offer first through fifth grade. Each class only has 20 students.

School Rules
1. Students may only leave school if a parent signs them out. 2. Be kind 3. Respect others 4. No fighting 5. Use school materials wisely

Classroom
Each classroom has a large screen that teachers use to teach and to save information. The students desks work the same as the large screen

Office Area

Teachers At Dr.Seuss Elementary there is only one


teacher who over the summer records all lessons for the whole year for each grade level. A recording of the teacher is displayed on both the front screen and the students desks. Video cameras are placed around the room to supervise the children. If a child has a question they can ask for help using an automated voice control system that answers virtually anything. It is a bit like Siri on Apple products.

Student Evaluation
At Dr.Seuss Elementary we care a lot about our students academics. Like traditional schools we have letter grades (A,B,C,D,F) and a G.P.A. A progress report is emailed to parents daily so that the parents know how their child is doing.

Cafeteria
Dr.Seuss Elementary has an indoor eating area for students. The school provides healthy meals for students who wish to buy food.
