The main part of the sky is concealed with the American flag- hinting that the honour of where you come from will play a prominent role in the reasoning behind some of the actions. The officer in the centre is wearing medalsindicating long service. The fact that he is standing in the middle indicates that he is an important character or is of important status. After the title of the film is shown" we go back to the man with his uniform hung up. #e has stopped smoking" and stands up" looking as his uniform. #is room is rather dark- indicating that he could be an interesting character" and although he is a member of the forces he does not appear to be in a $well off scenario. This breaks the stereotype of military officers.

#elicopters at sunrise show that the military will play an almost overriding role of reality. This is like the military in general- they operate outside the norms of reality and the time of the day does not matter- if something needs to be done" then it will be- even if it is at %am. This is a medium shot of a military colour parade. This indicates that someone important is either due or something important is due to happen. The fact that it is still dawn shows that even if it is at this hour" it is irrelevant because it is so important. This is a close up shot of the man with the military uniform. #e is getting dressed for some important occasion. The light and dark can be interpreted to mean that there are light and dark elements to us all- even soldiers. #e looks to be a middle aged man" and his eyes have seen war.
