Ethical Issues Report

It is fundamental for all businesses to address ethical issues. We are certain that for Calypso to succeed, we must tackle all these kind of problems. Therefore, we will hire the most qualified Human Resources personnel. There are several alarming ethical concerns that pose a threat towards our company. In the following report, the most common one will be described. Sexual Harassment This is a problem that is present in many businesses worldwide. Sexual harassment is defined as harassment (typically of a woman) in a workplace, or other professional or social situation, involving the making of unwanted sexual advances or obscene remarks. This produces discomfort and loss of productivity in our employees, which represent a menace towards Calypso. Alcohol and other Drugs This is one of the most common, and threating issues on a workplace. Drugs lead to a series of terrible consequences within a business, which is why there will be no tolerance to those employees who consume them during work schedule, or arrive under their effects. Honesty and Transparency It is crucial that every employee shows honesty in his or her actions. One of the most frequent issues regarding this field is stealing, especially from cashiers. Drastic measures will be taken to those employees who commit acts of dishonesty that affect the business and workplace environment. To avoid all these problems, all personnel will have to attend every 2 months to courses/conferences regarding work ethics. They will know how unethical behavior affects the business and theyll be informed of the consequences of performing such actions. If we follow a strategic plan, our business will not have to worry about these issues.
