QUANTIFIERS: MUCH / MANY / A LOT OF Much 1.

We use much with uncountable nouns to talk about a large quantity of something: Ex: I havent got much time. 2. We normally use much in negative sentences and questions. Ex: He did not speak much English. Ex: Why havent I given much attention to this problem?

Many 1. We use many to talk about a large number of people or things. We can only use many with plural countable nouns. Ex: He wrote many novels.

A lot of 1. In affirmative sentences we do not use much, we use a lot of instead. We can use them with both countable and uncountable nouns. Ex: He demanded a lot of attention. Ex: I make a lot of mistakes.
