Brochure
Description:
Building a professional brochure

Date: Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Brother Kerr

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

I first made an entirely new logo in illustrator. I formed a message for the brochure and then I collected four images that would sell the message. I then decided the fold and the way I would organize all the information. I picked a complimentary color scheme, because It wasnt overwhelming, but the colors really stand out. I want to look cool, but I didnt want to overdo it. One thing that I couldnt figure out was what to do with the inside of the brochure, so I asked. They said the idea of the back of the brochure was good. I was told to make it feel more youth full so I found splashes.

Message:
I want people to know my new shoe store was opening. Audience: The customers would be more youth and people involved with the hip hop culture.

Montage
Description:
To design is a montage that has two photos. There is use of a blur filter. I also use a mask on the red object and the smaller photo. I was trying to bring out all that I enjoy doing in my life and what inspires me.

Comm 130 Brother Kerr

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

I tried to figure out what I wanted to say. I then went to the one thing that represents that message to me. I used google to find more photos. I used a blur filter on the background to pull the dancers to attention. I used a mask for the smaller photo to blend it and help with the flow. I also put a mask on the object so I could break the plain with the legs on one dancer, and show another dancer but more faded into the background.

Message:
I wanted to say self-expression is a good thing.

Audience:
I wanted to go for a little more youthful audience.

Logos

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

I used Illustrator. I sketched some designs of turtle, because I wanted to do a logo after my dancer name.

Message:
To say that I am a cool hip hop dancer, but also get my name(Turtle) in the Logo.

Audience:
Hip hop culture.

Photo Design
Description:

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

Art is about imagination. There were several pictures, and I couldnt decide which one fit my color scheme or my message. An old photo came to mind that had great outside capture of light. I used it and I made the picture even closer to my color scheme.

Message:
I wanted to say there is a concert to support overcoming cancer. This concert is to help people that have fallen victim to cancer.

Audience:
I was thinking of an audience that was 50 or older. They seem to be an audience that might listen to jazz and are thinking about cancer.

Flier
Description:
I made a flier for my visual media class. The purpose was to build a new design on a flier for a situation given to me. I would have to satisfy the employer and their parameters.

Date: Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Brother Kerr

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

First I went through and made sure I understood all of the rules attached to the assignment. Then I came up with a message. Afterwards I made some sketches. I used The Type tool and the box tool. I also used the color tool. I used a Sans-Seriff font for my title. I used an oldstyle font for my body. The text also has bolding in parts and also colors were faded. One skill I used was grey to have the bold black text as the focus point.

Message:
The message was there is a leadership meeting for graduates. In the meeting graduates would learn concrete and professional leadership skills.

Business Card
Description:
I made a logo and put it into a letter head. The business card was made to be similar to the Letterhead.

Date: Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Brother Kerr

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):

I first made a new logo of my personal company, but I used some old shapes from the other Logos. I changed the Logo entirely. I made the lettering more of the focus instead of the turtle, but I still wanted the hip hop feel so I made the hat backwards, and put in the cool eye. I then used the color scheme for the Logo to make the design shape. The shape is so bold it works for drawing your eye down. For the back of the business card I really emphasized the head and eye with the F and T, because the logo really draws you into those parts.

Message:
I have a personal Hip hop company. I want people to know where they can go for hip hop events.

Audience:
Youth and Hip hop culture.
