DOT-BLOT ENZYME IMMUNOASSAY FOR THE DETECTION OF BOVINE VIRAL DIARRHEA VIRUS ANTIBODIES

Presented By : I Made Adi Suardhyana I Kadek Fuck Ther Suteja Ni Luh Gede Dicha Vivi Saputri

Introduction
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV), a member of the genus Pestivirus, causes a range of symptoms in cattle, leading to widespread economic losses worldwide Prenatal infection can also result in immunotolerance and persistent infection (PI) in calves Animals persistently infected (PI) with BVDV are regarded as the major source of spread of infection within and among herds

Introduction
Various detection methods have been developed, most extensively used protocols for serodiagnosis of BVD are based on the plate ELISA and serum neutralization (SN) methods Each of these methods may have disadvantages and objective of this study was to develop and evaluate a convenient and inexpensive sytem for detection of BVDV

Materials and methods

Sampling - 1250 sera were collected from twenty-eight herds with a history of BVDV infection included 809 individual SN negative sera. SN and ELISA tests Step virus neutralization test
Sera
Antibody titers
were initially heat-inactivated NADL strain of BVD virus measured against Use microtitration method

Materials and methods

Serial twofold dilutions of sera in duplicate
50 L of Dulbeccos modifified Eagles

Was prepared than mixed

50 L of virus suspension containing of BVD
