The SOMOS el Futuro spring conference is back and better than ever Albany, NY- The much anticipated SOMOS el Futuro fall conference will take place November 6th through 10th at the Conrad San Juan Candado Plaza in San Juan, Puerto Rico. SOMOS el Futuro, Inc. is joining forces with the New York State Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican and Hispanic Task Force to unite the greatest legislative and intellectual minds from New York and Puerto Rico. SOMOS addresses the contemporary challenges facing Hispanic communities through public policy workshops, as well as exhibits, special networking receptions, and presentations from speakers of state and national prominence. Conference proceeds help fund scholarships, internships, and apprenticeships that foster the academic and professional development of Hispanic Youth across New York State and Puerto Rico. In addition, SOMOS el Futuro, Inc. is hosting a fundraising golf tournament, taking place at the Trump International Golf Course in Rio Mar, Puerto Rico on November 7th. Tournament proceeds help fund cancer research and the aforementioned Hispanic youth initiatives. Golf carts, tournament polos, meals, and beverages are included during the tournament, setting a relaxed atmosphere for networking and friendly competition. Hurricane Sandy derailed our conference efforts last year, but, much like those communities devastated by the storm, this year its back better and stronger, said Assistant Executive Director Michelle Garcia.
