The Best way to predict your Future is to create it.

Abraham Lincoln
My name is Jessie Wilson and I am ecstatic to provide you with a glimpse of my administrative preparation and skills developed through the University of Michigan Rackham Program. I have dedicated my entire life to education and am looking forward to becoming a future administrator, enhancing the learning and teaching of students, as well as, educational professionals alike. I have spent the past four years teaching 1st grade and 4th-6th Social Studies at Northridge Academy, a K8 public charter school, located in Flint, Michigan. As a Title I school in a low SES area, the student population is in dire need systemic structures, along with firm but nurturing staff. These challenges further prepared me for my future administrative endeavors. In the past three years, I have served as the Lead Teacher for grades K-3rd and this past year, was promoted to Dean of Students. As a self-propelled community liaison, I feel it is relevant to use the community as extension of the classroom. I have established partnerships with community based programs, such as Operation Homefront and the National Guard Armory, which donate school supplies to military families and schools that are in need. To create exposure through diversity, I enlisted the assistance of Diplomat Pharmacy and Catholic Charities, to implement a collegiate Alternative Spring Break Program, including the participation of students from The University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, and New Mexico State University. I am a habitual learner and my passion derives from the academic progression of my students and respect of my colleagues. I accept all challenges and am committed to the pursuit of new endeavors that will enhance my administrative craft in education.
