Haidau fled the scene in a blue 2014 Volvo S80 rental car with New York license plate GKR5959. He has a revoked visa and is believed to be part of a credit card and identity theft ring previously arrested in California. Haidau is known to travel with another white male in parts of New York and should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the MTA Police Department.

    SUSPECT: VASILE OVIDIU HAIDAU M/W DOB: 10/30/1978


    On Monday April 7, 2014 at approximately 0515 hours, Officers observed the above Suspect Haidau tampering with the LIRR Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) at the LIRR Baldwin Station. Officers attempted to stop Haidau who actively resisted and was able to flee without apprehension. The Suspect was last seen operating a 2014 Blue Volvo S80 (Rental) NY Reg GXR5959 traveling west on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin, NY. Haidau has a revoked visa and known to travel with another white male in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Long Island. Haidau is a Romanian National who is believed to be part of a Credit Card/ Identity Theft ring which was previously arrested in California in 2013. Haidau is not known to carry weapons, however should be considered dangerous and if in contact with Haidau proceed with caution.
