ADVENTURE PLANET: What
do you like and hate about
indoor climbing vs. climbing
real rocks? What's the main
difference?
DAVID LAMA: Well, I like both,
but they are different. As
mentioned before, in sport
climbing, its mainly about
numbers and grades. Thats
probably the one thing I dont
like about it so much. Everything
just focuses on climbing an even
more difcult route. In alpine
climbing, youre leaving some
kind of statement, some kind of
thought behind.
Thats the one thing I love most
about alpine climbing. The
thing I hate in alpine climbing
is cold ngers and feet. You get
that a lot.

ADVENTURE PLANET:
At 23, you have achieved more
in your climbing career that
most people could possibly
dream of. What are your big
dreams for the future?
DAVID LAMA:
Climbing Masherbrum in Pa-
kistan is my biggest dream for
now. It has a huge face and
people simply cant imagine
climbing it. While they con-
sider it impossible, I believe
there is a chance to do it. Right
now, Im actually planning my
next expedition to Pakistan.

Climbing Masherbrum in
Pakistan is my biggest
dream for now.
