7th Grade Science, April 14th -18th


Objectives:
Effect of Ecosystems: The learner will be able to identify biotic and abiotic factors found in an ecosystem and be able to predict how these factors affect the populations and species found in ecosystems: competition, food sources, temperature, pollution, habitat destruction, global warming, floods, and forest fires. (MPS7-4) Survival Advantages: The learner will be able to predict how certain traits and structural features (e.g. structure of teeth, body structure , coloration, hollow bones/flight, hair/insulation, dense root structure/compact soil, and seed vs. spore) may offer a survival advantage to an organism. (MPS7-3)

Bell Work: Get laptops, log into Edmodo, Infographics folder Lesson: Show examples of Infographics Log into website, practice making an Infographic

Bell Work: Pick up and read rubric Lesson: Hand out rubic for Biome Infographic. Students research for their infographic and begin creating infographic once their information needed on rubric is filled out.
Learning Target: Today I can identify characteristics of a biome.
