     Prince Henry was the third child of king John the
    first of Portugal. He was born on March 4,1394
    (Oporto, Portugal). He died November 13, 1460
    at age 66. His mother was called Philippa of
    Lancaster. He was famous for sponsoring
    voyages of exploration to Asia and Portuguese
    explorers.
