Alpha Delta Delta Fraternity Men: Are you and your fellow brothers having trouble finding diverse philanthropy events that have a great cause behind them? I have an alternative event that may solve that problem for you! The Relay for Life event began in 1985 and is hosted by the American Cancer Society. It gives communities a chance to come together and celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those who have succumbed to the disease, and fight back against the horrible disease which affects so many each year. The current involvement on campus has been low. Though the campus makes up almost half of the town, there is not a high amount of involvement for the county itself. We are trying to get the campus more involved in this event, and in turn help out more individuals struggling with the expenses that cancer treatment can bring. More than 3.5 million people from all over the world have helped with this event to date! The event will take place in Beal Park in Maryville, Missouri. It is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on September 11th and will conclude at 6:00 a.m. on September 12th. Each team member will need to pay $10-15 to be a part of the team, but this cost also covers each members shirt expense. You could get any local business to sponsor an individual team to cover the minor costs of the shirts as well. The more teams the better! You will be one of the few organizations on campus in recent years that could really make a difference for the Relay for Life event here in Nodaway County. We, the planning events team, would also like to extend our hand out to help you with any further needs or questions you gentlemen may have about the organization itself, or any other questions regarding the Relay for Life event.
