RIVERSIDE POLICE CHARGE CHICAGO MAN WITH OBSCENITY

Police charged a man with threatening to distribute nude photos of ex-girlfriend

On Friday, April 11, 2014 at 12:20 p.m., the Riverside Police and the WEDGE Gang and Drug Task Force took an offender into custody for an incident that took place in Riverside on April 2, 2014. The victim, a 30-year-old female Riverside resident, reported to police that on April 2 her ex-boyfriend, who she has a child with, sent her partially nude photos of herself from the waist down in the U.S. mail. Also, contained in those photos was a letter stating that he was threatening to send the photos out to her new fiance's parents. During the last week, the Riverside Police continued to investigate the case and were able to track the offender to his residence. On Friday, Mr. Anthony Barker was arrested outside his home in Chicago. The victim and the offender are currently involved in a civil proceeding involving the custody of their daughter. The allegations include the fact that these partially nude photographs were sent to intimidate the victim into softening her position on child custody issues. Late Friday night, April 11, 2014, Riverside Police charged Anthony R. Barker, 38 of the 1900 block of West Grand Avenue in Chicago with one count of disorderly conduct and one count of obscenity. Both charges are misdemeanors. As these individuals had a prior dating relationship, the crime was classified as domestic in nature and Mr. Baker was held over for bond court Saturday morning. Even though Mr. Baker has been charged, the Riverside Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges may be placed against the offender at a later date.
