Type of Data Counting up to 10

Data Collected At the End of Week 2

Results Students completed their goal of being able to count from 1-10. Through the use of technology, small group reinforcement, and repetition, each student in the class recited their numbers from 1-10. Students were able to complete this activity and add objects, representing numbers, until they reached the number 10. Some students achieve this goal in less time than others. My original plan was to give them 5 minutes to complete this activity, but I realized many of them would not be able to complete the exercise in 5 minutes, so I removed the timer and allowed them to work at the own pace. When they completed this exercise in groups, they did pretty well and completed the exercise within 10 minutes as a group. Working individually, it took some of them more time. Ultimately, everyone completed the task except three students, who have ADD who need more instruction in order to grasp the lesson. Students were able to complete this activity, working in groups, successfully. The instruction they received from the computer enabled them to match the objects with the numbers and identify each number spelled out in written form. The guided instruction was very effective in the success rate for this exercise.
