Mahr/Dowry
Is a divine injunction. The giving of mahr to the bride by the groom is an essential part of the contract. The amount of mahr is not legally specified, but , according to the existing social norm is recommended.
Nikah
Is a solemn and sacred social contract between bride and groom. This contract is a strong covenant. Both parties mutually agree and enter into this contract.
Sermon/Khutbah
Sermon takes place in a mosque, where the groom and brides family are gathered together but not in a mixture of women and men, they are in different rooms. The men are downstairs of the mosque and the women are upstairs. Haram/sin (for the bride) Anything fake (eye lashes, wig, lenses etc.) Not Covered (hair, hands, neck etc.)
This is a Muslim tradition, it mostly happened in African countries but Asian countries do it differently
