• Reduce the need & distance for carrying
• Change the task design where possible
• Make the load lighter or smaller
• Make the load easier to grasp (suitable gloves for
task- safety footwear)
• Lift the load near to the body
• Ensure that required effort is supplied by leg
muscles
• Reduce frequency of repetitive tasks
• Avoid lifting from floor while seated
• Use/consider team handling
• Slips –Trips & Falls Operatives – workers adjacent • Maintain housekeeping- Avoid uneven floor
levels
