UNIT: We Built a Zoo Lesson Plan Week 1 Monday : Introduction to Affirmative Commands Learning Target: 1.2.N.L.

a: Demonstrate understanding of oral classroom language in the target language including directions, commands and requests.

Introduce the topic of affirmative commands on the board, including when to use this verb form in Spanish, as well as how to conjugate said verb form. Teacher teaches from page 426 of Vistas. Use this form in instances of will, emotion, and influence, such as in the case of telling rules (which we will do in the form of writing school rules.) For example: AR verbs: Hablar To speak/talk Yo hable Usted hable T habla Nosotros hablemos Ellos/as ustedes hablen

ER verbs: Correr- To run Yo corra Usted corra T corre Nosotros corramos Ellos/as, ustedes corran

IR Verbs: Escribir- To write

Yo escriba

Usted escriba T escribe Nosotros escribamos Ellos/as, ustedes escriban Students do a think pair share, where they are asked to think about what they have read as well as heard during the lesson and then share what they thought about with their partner. This helps solidify the students thoughts about the topic, and gets them engaging with the ideas presented in the lesson.
