Creating a Roadmap for Building a Strong LCAP to Close the Achievement Gap
The local control funding formula provides a unique opportunity for California school districts to close student achievement gaps by allocating resources to strengthen district systems through a singular focus that aligns all state and federal accountability plans. The Association of California School Administrators, in partnership with InnovateEd, is pleased to provide a series of one-day workshops that provides school/district teams a process for strategically designing and assessing the impact of LCAP as a district builds capacity for continuous improvement.
Teams will be guided through a framework that defines a systems approach for successful LCAP implementation using a three step process.
1. Analyze the strategic focus of district LCAP (and other accountability plans) priorities using a data-driven, systems approach to assess the impact on closing student achievement gaps. 2. Clarify strengths and constraints of district systems to align LCAP (and other accountability plans) priorities with high leverage action steps. 3. Define capacity building focus areas that will strengthen district systems and improve implementation of high leverage practices.
