What's your name? After talking to my parents about my name, Jordan Elizabeth Parker, I was told that my name was mostly original. Because I was the first child my mom wanted to pass down the name Elizabeth. The name Jordan came from a very long argument between my mom and dad. The names my mom like dad didn't and vice versa. They didn't like any of the names of previous family members, my grandma's name is June and great grandma's name is Helen. Even looking back farther into my family's history they didn't repeat names that often either. I think the reason my family didn't repeat names was

many boys to carry the father's name. In society the men are

ormally the ones with long lines of reoccurring names. On my dad's side of the family the name Rendell and Gilmore down. My father is Rendell Gilmore Parker the third. My grandpa is Rendell Gilmore Parker Senior. This confirms my statement before that men normally carry the family name. My uncle Phillip passed down his name to my cousin Phillip also. I don't think there is any reason that my uncle passes down his name other than that he liked his name. If we went back in time 50 years passing down a name was an honor, now in the 21st century people want to be original and make a new name for themselves and their
