Maintain the Standards for Quality Early Childhood Education

To maintain the standards for quality early childhood education my program needs to promote positive relationships among all children and adults. My program should implement a curriculum that is consistent with its goals for children and promotes learning and development in each of the following areas: social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. My program needs to use developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and effective teaching approaches that enhance each childs learning and development in the context of the curriculum goals. Children have different learning styles, needs, capacities, interests, and backgrounds. By recognizing these differences and using instructional approaches that are appropriate for each child, teachers and staff help all children learn. My programs can implement assessments to provide information on childrens learning and development. Assessments help me to plan appropriately challenging curriculum and tailor instruction that responds to each childs strengths and needs. Assessments can also help me identify children with disabilities, ensuring that they receive needed services. My programs need to encourage proper nutrition and health of children as well as protecting children and myself from illness and injury. Children need to be healthy and safe in order to learn and grow. I will continue to further my education to receive the knowledge and professional commitment necessary to promote childrens learning and development and to support families diverse needs and interests. To support childrens optimal learning and development my program needs to establish relationships with families based on mutual trust and respect, involve families in their childrens educational growth, and encourage families to fully participate in the program. My program should create relationships with organizations in the community that can help me achieve my goals. I should connect families with resources that support childrens healthy development and learning. I need to provide a safe environment that provides appropriate and well-maintained indoor and outdoor physical environments. An organized, properly equipped, and well-maintained environment facilitates the learning, comfort, health, and safety of the children enrolled. I need to effectively and constantly implement policies and procedures so all children, families, and I are ensured a high-quality experiences.
