JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Purpose: MANUFACTURING AND QUALITY ENGINEER Manufacturing and Quality Engineers will support

production on all areas of the production process from start to finish, including overseeing goods in and despatch. This is a combined role wherein the people appointed have cradle to grave responsibility for a specific product group(s) and will become the specialist for their specific product area, with a in-depth understanding of the full process. The Manufacturing and Quality Engineer will build expertise and ownership that can then be translated into right first time, builds. With productivity gains and process improvement established as part of their KIPs. This role will create true product champions who are able to speak with authority and knowledge about their product group(s) and form part of a world class team, who are able to stand with customers and discuss the performance, application and general quality of their product.

Scope:

Main Responsibilities Supplier Quality Responsibility and accountability with the appropriate authority to correct errors in any of the suppliers who are providing components to the production facilities. Taking responsibility to eradicate the requirement to 100% inspect any commodity. The role will insist that piece-parts are delivered in the appropriate packaging, stacked correctly, identified correctly and as specified. If no delivery specification exists this requires development and review, ensuring all involved understand WFL standards. Material Picking /Delivery Review the process to ensure accurate, effective with full control and damage free. Create recommendations and ensure corrective actions are adhered to. Production Process Improvement Constant review and improvement to ensure effective and efficient process re-engineering, training, piece-part flow etc. Recommend, innovate and implement revised methods and processes. Training Needs Identification Identify weaknesses in any part of your process. Create a shared approach with supervision to leverage best results. SOPs Creation, control and adherence. Packaging cost, process, rationalisation etc. To minimise cost and improve product perception. Pool resource with the supplier(s) to create a rationalised range of packaging (cost down) Product Marking Improve and maintain data, accuracy, quality. Despatch - Create pack and stack processes that improve efficiency whilst maintaining the integrity of the product and perception on receipt.

CCA Resolution Total responsibility for the process, the cause, the resolution and communication of root cause fix. Customer Contact and Communication Responsible for all QA associated communication. Customer visits, development discussion, improvement opportunities. Quality Verification and Documentation Take responsibility to ensure testing and verification documentation is up to date at all times. New Product Introduction Active involvement in all aspects of product modification, development ensuring a full understanding

Any other reasonable task the manager may deem as suitable for the role. PERSONAL COMPETENCES Manufacturing and Quality Engineer The competencies listed are appropriate to the Manufacturing and Quality Engineer Professional Requirements Degree Educated in a relevant field or relevant experience with equivalent qualifications 5 years experience in a an industrial manufacturing role Experience of working to stringent audited ISO quality standards Personal Competencies
