The Billows Family moves a lot. (New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Oahu, Hawaii, and San Francisco) First Part: Amber talks about her family in the transition to move. How Tough it was for her. Second Part: Family is in Hawaii. Family gets settled making a friends and getting acclimated.

Highlights and Plot Continued

Then of a sudden BOOM! Rumors then spread out about the Japanese in Hawaii.
FBI takes away suspicious Japanese people into custody.

People viciously grab everything they see in stores and buy it or steal it Huge Lines at every store. Rationing. Homes had to be Blacked Out.

Finger Printed I.D.s were made and required to be worn at all times. Kames family couldnt speak Japanese anymore on the phone or in public. Everyone was required to pick up and carry gas masks everywhere they go

Fatalities in the book

Soldiers and Civilians were killed. Mr. Poole dies in a fire. AA gun shells hit his library missing its target. Lieutenant Lockhart went crazy and had to get both legs Amputated after the U.S.S. Arizona being bombed.
