Carbon offsets are balancing your carbon emission. For example, say that there was this company that pollutes more than it should. It can do environmental action like planting trees to set the carbon emission to their bar.

Solar Energy Pros abundant (from sun), easy to get. Cons- solar panels are expensive but mirror technique is cheap Geothermal Energy - Pros- Environmentally friendly. Doesnt pollute that much. It can get 2 TW (terawatts) Cons can lead to earthquakes. To start it is expensive Hydropower - Pros- a reservoir. It can save from a flood or drought. Cons- it causes eutrophication in the rivers flow and the other side has no nutrients tidal & wave energy- Pros area efficient and doesnt harm the wave flow. Cons- the beginning it is very expensive Algae/biofuel- Pros- does not emit harmful pollutants. Cons it will cost higher than diesel

What are the debates for the Kyoto Protocol?


The U.S. wont sign it because it emits more greenhouse gases per person. Even though China emits more greenhouse gas in total but per person since they have more people they can achieve the bar. US with ave to decrease their emission and meaning less energy for their factories.
