Dear Future Employer: In order to obtain employment with your organization, I am writing this letter to supplement my rsum in order to emphasize my skills and experience. With my vast educational experience, as well as professional experience onboard numerous vessels, I believe I will be a strong candidate. My education at the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Texas A&M University at Galveston has given me a strong background in the fundamentals of marine transportation. Along with the required classes to obtain my degree and license, I was onboard the USNS Washington Chambers for 100 days as a deck cadet to obtain the required commercial sea days for my license. While onboard the USNS Washington Chambers, I was required to compile all the information I have learned in my classes and use it practically while standing navigation and cargo watches. My professional experience is comprised of working as a deckhand for Magnolia Fleet, LLC. during the winter of 2012, and working as an intern for LeBeouf Bros. Towing, L.L.C. during the winter of 2013. While working for these towing companies, I was responsible for maintaining the vessel, as well as safely mooring the barge(s). I also learned about navigation onboard towing vessels, and the tanking operations of a dangerous liquid barge. Since the marine transportation curriculum is based around blue water shipping, my experience working in the brown water sector has broaden my horizon in the maritime industry. My rsum, which can be located on the Rsum Page, will give more detail about my education and professional experience, and I would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application at greater detail. I can be reached by phone anytime at (504) 701-1782 or by email at dylanlovergne@gmail.com. Very Respectfully,

Dylan W. Lovergne
