LESSON GUIDE PLANNING FORM

NAME OF ACTIVITY: How Plants Grow part 3 Age Group: Pre-school

Originating Idea: Seasons / Farming

Materials Needed: Dark, light brown, green construction paper, shapes of fruit/ flowers, glue, markers

Curriculum Content: Language, Literacy and Communication; talking with others about personally meaningful experiences.

Beginning: During small groups, teachers tell the children that they will show how plants grow flowers and or fruit.

Middle: Children will use art materials to create what they think a plant will look like after flowers or fruit grow from them.

Extensions (Modifiers): Teachers can cut out flowers and fruit to model how it is done. Teachers ask open ended questions about planting and farming and what fruit children like/dislike to eat. End: Children discuss with teachers and friends their projects and how fruit and flowers grow from plants. Follow-up Ideas: What fruit grow from plants or trees.
