LESSON GUIDE PLANNING FORM

NAME OF ACTIVITY: This is a Story about Sammy Age Group: Pre-school

Originating Idea: Using parts of the body

Materials Needed: CD/ song This is a story about Sammy

Curriculum Content: Physical Development, Health and well-being; Acting upon movement directions.

Beginning: After rest/ nap time, Teacher tells the children that we need to wake up all of our body parts.

Middle: Play the music and act out the song.

Extensions (Modifiers): Teacher will model the role playing in the song as Sammy. Teacher can ask open ended questions about the animals in the song.

End: Discuss with the children what they do when they walk to the store, what they see when they walk to the store. Follow-up Ideas: What other ways do the children get to the store, to school, or to visit family.
