Community Group Facilitators Guide Week of April 20, 2014 Intro: Wow, what a great week of remembering, reflecting

and finding renewal in the Passion Week of Christ. This weeks guide is a looking back with your group on this weeklong experience that includes The Passion Journey devotionals, our Good Friday and Easter services. Opening Discussion: Ask your group members to share any Easter traditions from their families growing up or that they have created for their own family. Discussion: Begin by reading one of the resurrection narratives from one of the four gospels. Let your group know that we have started a new tradition at GFC a weeklong emphasis on the Passion of Christ culminating in our Easter Celebration. Invite your group to share which of The Passion Journey devotionals was most meaningful to them and what made it meaningful. If group members were able to participate in the Good Friday service, ask them to reflect and share what this service meant to them. You can then ask group members to share specific ways they were impacted by the Easter in Black & White worship service. Finally, ask group members to share how this weeklong experience has revealed to them new or deeper ways they need to be changed by Christ and used by Christ. Please share with your group that if they had a significant spiritual experience during Passion Week, they could respond through baptism if they have not done so before. They can register to be baptized at gfcnow.com/baptism (by Sunday April 27). Prayer Time: Take time to pray for one another thanking God for how he has used this week to encourage and strengthen our faith as well as challenged us to new steps of growth and ministry.
