5619 April 22, 2014 Greg Walker Associate Director, Athletic Communications University of Oregon 2727 Leo Harris Parkway Eugene, OR 97401 Dear Greg, I would like to officially declare my interest in the Athletic Communications Intern position at the University of Oregon. I believe I am qualified for this position based on my professional experiences, current sport information and media relations experience, academic achievements, and communication and interpersonal skills. My professional experiences thus far along with my expansive knowledge of college sports have provided me a foundation in the field of athletic communications and media relations. I have developed oral and written communication skills necessary for success in this position with the University of Oregon through my diverse tasks in athletic communications at Vanderbilt University, where I created a football AllAmericans web page, wrote post-game notes for womens basketball games, and transcribed post-game quotes. Currently, I serve as the primary mens and womens tennis contact at the Ohio Valley Conference, write weekly press releases, update the website and use social media to share stories, stats, and information. I have managed the Ohio Valley Conferences Twitter and Facebook accounts during the 2014 OVC Basketball Championships, posting live updates and scores while boosting followers and interaction throughout the tournament. Additionally, I have conducted statistical research for the Vanderbilt womens basketball media guide and have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign through creating roster cards, ranking lists and updating media guides, Photoshop through editing website photos, and Stat Crew through input during live games and manual importing. Furthermore, I believe my organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills that I have developed through teaching six different undergraduate courses as a graduate teaching assistant are a great fit for the responsibilities noted in a position of this caliber. I am very eager to assist the University of Oregon in planning, organizing, leading, developing, and designing within athletic communications and media relations. Thank you for reviewing my application package. I can be contacted via telephone at 386.337.5619 or through electronic mail at luke.bolanos@adjuncts.belmont.edu if you have any questions. Sincerely,

M. Luke Bolanos
