Transition Words and Phrases

Using transition words and phrases help papers flow
smoothly, and at the same time allows the reader to easily follow a thought process from one point to the next.

Transitions show logical organization of ideas and

improve the connections between thoughts. They show relationships between ideas, within a sentence, paragraph, or paper.

Transition words and phrases should always be

followed by a comma!
