A sophomore at Emory & Henry who was told he was simply too young to qualify for an internship recently learned that persistence pays off. As a first-year, Nathan Fishell knew he wanted to gain real-life experience doing advertisement sales in a news environment. Upon applying to over 40 places, Fishell was only declined, receiving the response that he was well-qualified, simply too young. Nathan, however, was not deterred. In the end, Fishell pushed his way to an interview at WTVR in Richmond. He impressed the staff and was offered an internship at the station for the summer of 2014. Nathans story shows that persistence and a little bit of luck can really pay off.
