Jean Carlo Castillo Hyperlink Water is a very precious thing that is often wasted.

People do not think twice about dumping out water that could have been saved for later because living in the United States, we have a plethora of water at our disposal. Others are not so lucky; those living in third world countries must travel far in order to get enough water to last them a few ways. What will happen to the world if water is suddenly not readily available? How will we react? There is an inclination that all animals and humans share and that is the inclination to survive. So what happens when we run out of one of the only things that can keep up alive? Well, historically when resources have been short, people have resorted to fighting over such resources. So what makes us think that this will not happen again? A war on water is a very real thing that could very well happen in the near future. Experts predict that the next great-war could be fought over something as common as water. There is no telling what people will resort to when the only thing that is keeping them from living another day is fresh water, which they took for granted not a few years earlier. People could very well join up and create gangs and hoard water. This could create an oligarchy. A few people would have the world at their fingers because they are controlling the very thing that keeps us alive. We could prevent such a thing from happening by just being careful with our water, rationing accordingly and saving a bit of it for when a drought strikes.
