MEDIA RELEASE GOVERNMENT MUST RULE OUT FURTHER CUTS TO VETERANS Labor calls on the Abbott Government to immediately rule out further Budget cuts to our veteran community, following speculation tonight that veterans pensions are under threat. Cuts to the pensions of our veterans would be a betrayal of the former servicemen and women who have served our country with distinction. The Government needs to put an end to the an iety in the veteran community and rule out these cuts. This Budget already includes the closure of nine !eterans Access "etwor#s in regional !ictoria and "ew $outh %ales, as well the cruel decision to cut payments to the children of war veterans, including orphans. &ur veterans cant afford another bro#en promise from the 'rime (inister. )e must guarantee that he wont cut the pensions of our veterans, who have already sacrificed so much.
