Area and Perimeter Test Action Plan

Type of Data: Quantitative & Student Learning

Facts: 71% of students scored an A or B. Student 13 only answered one perimeter question correctly.

Hypothesis: I prepared the students well for this test and they knew the objectives. This student struggled with learning the perimeter. I did not help this student grasp the concept before the test. This student missed a lot of school and did not fully catch up. I did not work with this student since they were gone so much. I gave understandable lesson and the students were prepared.

Action Plan: I will see what strategies worked in this lesson and include them in others to keep scores high. I will work with the student to understand perimeter and find ways to help them understand. I will try to include more activities for this student to do at home and try to get parents involved when students miss a lot of school. I will see what questions the students were most likely to miss and work to improve those questions. I will work with them to score 12. I will work to make lessons that challenge this student. I will look if this question needs to be replaced or how I can change my instruction to have students perform better on perimeter story problems.
