Early Years A. He was born in the small state of Lu in eastern China ( he lived from 551 to 479 bc) B. Confucius had first handed experienced the disorder that had happened in China because his own state had been invaded many times.

The teachings of Confucius had a very practical effect on government under a later dynasty, the Han Dynasty. Contributions A. The teachings of Confucius had a major influence on Chinese culture. B. Values such as the respect for elders, proper behavior, and the five basic relationships had become deeply woven into the Chinese society.
