Emily and Dad planted a garden for their harvest of fresh vegetables. Dad said Put the seeds in the ground. Emily sprayed water and waited for the plants to grow. Then she watched for the vegetables to get ripe. When can we pick the tomatoes? Emily asked. Tomorrow, said Dad. But as the sun came up, Squirrel chomped on every tomato. When can we pick the green beans? Emily asked. Tomorrow, said Dad. But as the sun came up, Rabbit nibbled every green bean. When can we pick the cucumbers? Emily asked. Tomorrow, said Dad. But as the sun came up, Emilys dog, Molly, munched on the cucumbers. When the sun climbed high in the sky, Emily put on her garden gloves. Squirrel watched from a tree. Rabbit watched from behind a bush. Molly watched through the window. Emily found Mollys ball in the garden and threw it to her. Then, she looked at the garden and said Thats weird. She picked out ten jalapeo peppers because they were the only vegetables left. In the kitchen, Emily and Dad made a big batch of spicy salsa sauce. Emily dipped a tortilla chip in the salsa. Crunch!
