Worked in this Dual Immersion School teaching Language Arts and Math to a wide variety of learning
levels. Included Gifted and Talented to ELL/Refugee student population.
Increase Dibels mid-term test scores on 46 of 49 students in two classes I am responsible for .
Completed analysis of Aquity Data in Math and Language Arts to determine which intervention programs
are working and which are not by data and by observation.
Successful increase both Dibels, Acuity and end of year assessments in my students in a significant manner
to ensure that the vast majority of students were at or above the proficient level. This was achieved by
successfully implementing DeFour's PLC model and examining data as a grade level team, reviewing
common assessments made by the grade level team to group students who are in need of re-teaching and
scaffolding to increase their learning. As a grade level team we identified who on the team was most
qualified to re-teach a subject to these students and then structured our re-teaching to allow this to occur.
Responsible for a diverse type of learners including ESL, Gifted and Talented and Behavioral issues and to
manage those students to maximize their success. I have been able to take difficult students and help them
to turn their behavior and academic struggles into success by providing structure, support, modified
assignments while building rapport so that these students can maximize their learning.
Recognized in 2011 by the Granite Association of Gifted Children for making a significant contribution to
the gifted and talented students in my classroom by a parent.
Served on the Community Council for three years, and as leader on the Faculty Leadership Team for 2010
to 2011. Successfully aided in the evaluation of which intervention programs were working or not working
in our school, while helping to determine with the Community Council and teachers which intervention
programs would work for our student population.
Led the Professional Learning Support team to bring the concept of the PLC to the school grade level teams
and helped to applying and adapting the process to the needs of our students so that all students are able to
learn at a high level.
