Mrs.

Mires’ Classroom Rules

Consequences
We use a stop light system. All students begin the day on
green. If a child is having difficulty following the rules,
he/she will be warned first. If inappropriate behaviors
continue, he/she will be asked to write his/her name in my
Behavior Book. S/he will then be changed to yellow. If a
child receives a color changeby writing his/her name in my
book. He/she will spend a few minutes discussing the
problems that have occurred before heading to recess. If a
child continues to have difficulty following rules, he/she
may be asked to change his/her color to red. If this occurs,
you will likely receive a phone call from me explaining the
problems. Children learn very quickly what is acceptable
and what is not. Children who behave appropriately will be
verbally praised and often times receive “Buck dollars” for
their efforts. These dollars can be spent monthly at the
school prize store. Your child’s name also gets entered into
a school-wide drawing for special prizes at our assemblies.

Behavior problems are kept to a minimum.

*Severe misbehaviors may warrant an automatic (snap) suspension. See R.E.S handbook.
