Please consider me for a position on your Information Technology team. This internship is of the greatest interest to me as my mother, Joanne Hart, is Director of Technology Services, and my brother, Brian Smith, is a developer I. And they both deeply enjoy the work they do and the environment in which they work. This internship program is an example of my career goals and interests as a Computer Science Engineer.

As a sophomore in college, I am working to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of North Texas. As I pursue this degree, I continue to take courses that increasingly mold and guide me to becoming an efficient and productive programmer. In the second level technical communications course I am currently enrolled in, we must create a manual over something that is relevant to our future. Due to my deep understanding of the C language, I have chosen to dedicate my manual to teaching future Computer Science majors the basics of how to program in C. This manual will act as a guide and reference to students who may be struggling in introductory C language courses.

In addition to my educational development, I believe that my communication and people skills will allow me to perform effectively in this internship position. While working in the service and food industries for

two years, I trained new employees in various areas, including customer service and presentation, interpersonal interactions between guests, managers, and coworkers, cash register duties, food packing duties, and food running duties. As I continue to work in these industries, my skills in these areas will advance even further and be useful for an internship such as this.
